So last night my friend and I met up with a friend of her for drinks and trivia. He brought two of his friends. We had a good time we all ended up going to another bar together. My favorite bar by the way! However a the second bar, her friend started to make fun of overweight people by saying he could never marry a girl with a shelf butt, or his worst nightmare would be to marry a girl and then for her to get the butt. He also said he can't handle arm fat.
I sat there quietly stunned not really sure what to say. I mean *I* have arm fat. I had a long sleeve shirt on so you couldn't see it. The waving arm fat he was making jokes about, *I* have.
So have any of you been in a similar situation? Have you said anything to them?
What would you do if you were in this situation.
I do know this, next time I am not just going to sit their quietly.

Wow. That's a hard one. I have to say i'd probably just walk away.
How did your friend react?
I don't think I'd make a huge deal about it... I think I'd say something along the lines of "Huh. Well, I used to have a weight problem" and then just sit back and let him take that in... I'm sure he's just feel like an ass- and he should.
i'd probably want to beat him and tell him to stop being a douche. was he a fratty a hole?
I'd say something. I bet that doesn't surprise you. :)
I'd pull up my sleeve and show my arms and say "you hate arms like this? wow I feel better about myself.. THANKS!"
people are idiots. sad but true.
In a warped way it's a compliment, because obviously that guy doesn't see YOU as fat or he wouldn't be saying that in front of you.
However, it's still an offensive thing to talk about.
I don't know what I would say
i would probably let the guy go on and on and then finally say something like, "i used to have a weight problem. and MAN, you should see MY arm fat. but i'm sure you think i'm still cool, right?"
let him feel a little small for a moment.
at least you know what kind of guy he is.
I really honestly think that you wanted to title this one "What Would You Say?"
And being who I am, I would have probably called him out on it.
