Here's the question: what do you change? Whom do you call that you haven't spoken to in years? Whom do you realize has been toxic to your heart and drop with surprising ease? What trips do you cancel, and what trips do you book? What can't you be bothered with anymore? What's the new you like? Think about that, and then ask one more question. Why not just change it all right now?-- John Mayer

Just Because
So I tried the skinny jeans on tonight. And they fit! However, for it to be like old times, I need to lose a few more pounds and they will fit like a glove :)
It Was Bound to Happen
I am going to be honest with you guys here because we are all friends right? So yesterday afternoon at a basketball game I had some popcorn. Not just some popcorn, but a LARGE popcorn. For dinner I had some leftover fakeout mac and cheese. Then I had about 2 full ramekins of wasabi wow mix and 2 spoons of peanut butter. I also had some sliced turkey with my mac and cheese. Umm, I so did not need the wasabi wow mix or the peanut butter. I didn't really beat myself up about eating, but I knew the scale would be higher today so I already decided at that point I was not going to weigh myself in the morning. I ate all of this around 7 PM. I went on with my night and went to bed around 10:30. My alarm goes off this morning at 4:35 and I really didn't want to go to my boot camp class, but I forced myself to go. I get there and it is all cardio. Lots and lots of running. Not good. My stomach was doing summersaults from the running and sprints and all the other crap they had us do. I seriously thought I was going to throw up at one point. Not because it was hard, but because of the crap I ate last night in a LARGE quantity. My body was totally revolting. I usually do another hour of cardio, but today I just couldn't handle it. So I did 7 minutes on the stair stepper and peaced out of that place.
Now I am sitting here wondering why in the hell did I eat all that "crap" last night? (It's funny now what I consider crap when 5 years ago I could polish off a box of little debbie swiss rolls in one sitting no problem.) I have some ideas why I ate that stuff, but I am not going to go into them here. I do know that I got a workout in this morning and I am going to go walking during lunch. Also, I am going to eat a healthy breakfast and a healthy lunch. The weekend weather is going to be gorgeous and I am hopefully going to be doing some things outside.
Have a great weekend!

F*** My Life
So I found this website, F*** My LIfe, last week and it is right up my alley. I don't read it religiously, but every so often.
My two best friends also read the site and they both thought of me when they saw this post:
"Today, I was at the school's rec center, working out for the first time in a while. While there, there was this very mysteriously attractive girl who kept shooting me glances. I asked for her number and she responded by saying "if you can lift this same weight as me". I couldn't. FML"
I love that my friends know me so well :)

In A Funk
I have been in some sort of funk since around lunch time today. I can't really put my finger on what is causing it. Probably because it is a bunch of little things all making me feel this way. I made myself go to the gym tonight which is much better than the alternatives: watching TV all night or staying in front of my computer all night or going out to dinner (which I contemplated for all of about 10 seconds and then I realized it would be foolish since I have plenty of food at home. So yeah I am in a funk. But on the plus side I start my teeth whitening tomorrow and I have my first leadership class which will provide me with some training so that I can be a better board member on a non-profit board. But yeah, I am still in a funk. Maybe a good nights sleep will help.
I'll be back in a few to post food pics.

Monday Eats
Ok folks, here's what I ate today
Breakfast:
I am sure this looks really familiar. French roll with honey mustard, 3 slices of peppered salami, 1 slice of light provolone, and a sprinkle of Wasabi Wow! trail mix. This mix is addicting and it is bar far one of my FAVORITES. It is the perfect combination of salty, spicy and sweet with peanuts, almonds, wasabi peas, dried cranberries, and golden raisins.
Morning snack:
Fage style 0% yogurt, with my homemade berry concoction and some fiber one mixed in for crunch. SO good! I didn't eat all the fiber one in the yogurt, but snack on it throughout the morning.
Lunch:
Spinach salad with tomato, avocado, crasins, mushrooms, snow peas, salt and pepper, and light champagne vinaigrette.
Afternoon snack 1:
Diet orange crush and pirate booty. I just need some sort of carbination.
Afternoon snack 2:
Gala apple (pic from last week)
Pre gym snack:
A small amount of wasabi wow with a few jalapeno pretzels
Dinner:
Oh man when I came home from the gym I was hungry. Good things I already new what I was going to have. I heated up my leftover pad thai and added corn and green beans and sprinkled a few dry roasted peanuts on top. YUMMY!
Hopefully tomorrow I will make the fake out mac and cheese!

Sunday Eats
First I went to Kroger this morning for some groceries. I had planned on going to trader joes tomorrow as well for more lunch food, but I realized that I will be eating 2 of my 5 lunches out and I can probably make do for the rest of the week. Lunches should be a little bit interesting.
Here is what $24.53 will get you at Kroger:
1 box of All Bran Bran Buds
1 container Old Fashioned Oats
2 bags of frozen cauliflower
2 pears
1 cucumber
1 red pepper
green grapes
1/2 pound cajun turkey breast
2 Russell Stover's Chocolate Coconut Nests (my second favorite Easter Candy behind the Cadbury hard shell chocolate eggs, of which I have not seen the dark chocolate variety this year :( Of course they will be eaten after Easter)
1 Snickers egg (for the roomie)
Breakfast
Oatmeal with berry mixture and as a special treat, brown sugar
Snack
About a tablespoon of the All Bran Brand Buds
Lunch
French roll with honey mustard and 3 slices pastrami, 1 slice light provolone cheese, and about a tablespoon or 2 of Wasabi Wow! trail mix
Snack
A small ramequin of jalapeno pretzels (about 6 or 7 total)
Dinner
I was planning on making Fake Out Mac and Cheese, but I opted for Cheesecake Factory while I was out shopping. I didn't take a picture of the 4 pieces of bread and 1 butter pat I ate, but here is a picture of my white chicken chili. I had wanted to try the chili for a while. It was really creamy and had a kick too it. I only ate about half the rice. I think I could make a version just as good, but with a lot less fat and calories. Does anyone have a white chicken chili recipe they love?
That's all for tonight.

Friday/Saturday Eats
Friday Eats
Breakfast:
French roll with 3 pieces peppered salami, 1 slice parmesan cheese, a sprinkling of wasabi wow trail mix
Morning snack:
Jalapeno pretzels (pic from Thursday because I forgot to take one. Whoops!)
Lunch:
My typical spinach salad with various veggies and champagne vinaigrette dressing
Snack 1:
Lunch just didn't do it and I found some brown sugar maple oatmeal in my desk
Snack 2:
A red delicious apple later in the afternoon. The coloring is a little off...
Evening snack:
I had 1/4 cup of wasabi wow trail mix.
Dinner:
I completely forgot to take pics :( My friends and I went to this yummy new flatbread pizza place. We got 3 apps to share: spinach artichoke dip with whole grain flatbread, roasted red potatoes, with a sour cream topping, and lobster mac and cheese. The apps were ok, but not amazing and I probably ate more than I should have. For dinner I ordered a chicken bbq flatbread with pineapple, purple onions, jalapenos, and drizzled with ranch. It was cut into 8 pieces. I probably should have only ate half, but ate the entire thing.
Saturday Eats
Breakfast:
Oatmeal with walnuts and my mixed berry sauce.
Lunch:
1 really small yukon gold potato, corn, green beans, 1 whole avacado w/ salt and pepper
Snack:
Wasabi wow trail mix
Afternoon snack:
I had a half of a 20 oz bottle of regular Sierra Mist. Regular, not diet. It was waaaaaaay to sweet for me. No picture.
Dinner:
Chicken pad thai from Pei Wei. I ate half of my serving.
Evening drinks:
I went to a show later in the evening and I had 2 beers. No pictures.
One thing I do have to say is that taking pictures of my food has, for the most part, made me more mindful of what I am eating. I think had I taken pics at dinner on Friday I probably would not have eaten as much as I did. Also, you all are getting a glimpse of how monotonous my food choices can be. When I cook for 1 I tend to eat the same thing for a few days straight. I am usually ok with this, but by the 4th day I am ready for some change. This week the potatoes are gone and I am planning on making fake out mac and cheese and I have some great ideas to literally spice and change things up a bit each day. I will probably still keep my lunch salads the same this week, but might change up some of the toppings. Who knows I might actually continue taking pictures if anyone actually finds it interesting!
