Breakfast:
Pretty much the same as yesterday. French roll with 3 slices of peppered salami and honey mustard. 2 slices of parmesan cheese which is AWESOME when it is sliced.
Snack:
I had originally planned on an apple, but bought some Pirate Booty instead
Lunch:
The same spinach salad I had yesterday with grape tomatoes, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, crasins, salt and pepper, and my favorite light champagne dressing.
Afternoon snack:
Omega 3 snack mix from trader joes with pecans, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, crasins, and 2 other sees that I don't remember. I love this mix because it isn't salty at all and it comes in portion control packs and TJ's doesn't charge an arm and and a leg because it is pre-portioned.
Evening snack:
I went to Target after work and was STARVING. I decided to buy a snack. I bought some YUMMY jalapeno flavored pretzels. these would be SO good as pretzel thins.
Dinner:
I probably should have stayed home and eaten in, but my roomie want to go out. We went to one of my favorite greek places in town. I had a side salad, chicken kabobs, 1 whole wheat pita, roasted red potatoes, and tzatziki sauce. I ate it ALL and was really full.
I should note that I drink water with all my meals.
Here's the question: what do you change? Whom do you call that you haven't spoken to in years? Whom do you realize has been toxic to your heart and drop with surprising ease? What trips do you cancel, and what trips do you book? What can't you be bothered with anymore? What's the new you like? Think about that, and then ask one more question. Why not just change it all right now?-- John Mayer

The Sweets
So yesterday without eating sweets wasn't that bad. I did realize how much I like a little something sweet in the evening. That is going to be the hardest part. Not have a few pieces (or a bag) of chocolate in the evening. It must have been weighing pretty heavy on my mind because I was dreaming of eating sweets. Lots and lots of them.

Food Journal Challenge/Lent/Diet Coke Detox
I have signed up for Krissie's Food Journal Challenge! I am have taken pictures before of my food, but not every bite. I am excited!
So to get ready for the challenge I decided to take a picture of my grocery store purchases this week. I went to Trader Joe's after work on Monday. My total bill: $35.17. What does $35.17 look like?
In case you can't see everything from the pic, I bought:
4 gala apples
4 avacados
1 bag of spinach
1 bag of sliced mushrooms
1 bag of sugar snap peas
1 large carton of grape tomatoes
Raspberry salad dressing
1 quart of milk ( I just need to pic up some cauliflower and I am making mac and cheese this week!)
Plain french rolls
1 bag frozen corn
1 bag frozen berry medley
1 package lite provolone cheese
1 bag Wasabi Wow trail mix
So I originally planned to give up Diet Coke for Lent. However, I am on Day 22 of no Diet Coke and doing just fine. So I am going to be giving up SWEETS for Lent. Now what is a sweet? Well it is basically some sort of processed thing with added suagr (that's my loose definition). It includes candy, chocolate, cakes, pies, cookies, granola bars, 100 calorie packs of cookies, etc. All of which are things that I have binged on at one point or another. It does not include fruit or crasins.
Diet Coke Detox has been going amazingly well! Day 22!!! WooWoo! I don't really feel like I need one anymore. But I sure do miss my Diet Coke at Pei Wei!

So I dropped the Chicago boy off at the airport 3 hours ago. Yes, I know I have left some things out. But obviously things have progressed enough for us to hang out since we first met back in November. I had a great weekend and I am really sad that he is on his way back home. So now I am left wondering what next?
Here's to Monday! Gym at 5 AM. And back to eating well!
