Here's the question: what do you change? Whom do you call that you haven't spoken to in years? Whom do you realize has been toxic to your heart and drop with surprising ease? What trips do you cancel, and what trips do you book? What can't you be bothered with anymore? What's the new you like? Think about that, and then ask one more question. Why not just change it all right now?-- John Mayer

I can't guarantee it will be exciting or relevant to weight loss at all, but come follow me on twitter: @brownsarahk if you'd like!

What's My Motivation?
So despite eating and drinking my way through Austin, I am feeling ok with my body. I didn't weigh myself before I left and I haven't weighed myself since I have returned home. I knew any number on the scale yesterday would be inflated due to the lack of fruits/veggies/exercise/water while in Austin. PLUS, my ankles became cankles after 1 day in Austin and stayed that way through yesterday. Talk about suckage. I am getting up and walking around on my next flight for sure.
But anyway, I am feeling like I am in a good place. I ate completely horribly before I left for Austin and my stomach skin/fat had this weird feeling. I have always called it "I can feel myself getting fatter" feeling. However, I think I have discovered what it is! Bloat. Oh how exciting. It last for a few days and then it goes away.
So I have been eating plenty if fruits and veggies and I went to my gym class this morning (so not fun after a week off) AND today was really shitty at work, so I went back to the gym and did just over 5 miles in a hour of running at various speeds and inclines.
So before I left for Austin I got a little sad looking at pics from about 2.5 years ago and wondering what the hell happened to me? So in an effort to help myself I am motivating myself with an iPhone. What do I have to do to get the iphone? Get back to 190. Let's see how long this will take...

SXSW 2009: As Told With Pictures
Home Sweet Home for 5 Days
Day 1
Stubb's BBQ. I saw The Avett Brothers and the Decemberist among other bands here.
Happy to be in Austin!
Wristbands galore!
Day 2
PBR Tall for free at the NPR Party
Thao and the Get Down Stay Down
Free Red Stripe at another party
Jessica lea Mayfield! Finally! I got to see her!
Triple Fisting it at the Fader Fort
Matt and Kim was AMAZING
The venue was really far away and it had been a long day so we took a pedicab back to our friends. It was a little scary...
Day 3
Tinted Windows at the Fader Fort
I am not really sure how I feel about Tinted Windows...
Friday was a long day...I drank heavily. This is margarita one with an extra shot of tequila...
Margarita #3 of the night...
Given my choices of crappy beer at the show after dinner I went with a Miller Lite. The bartender told me this was a good choice because I got the most bang for my buck. Umm. Ok.
The next venue I went to was an awesome punk rock bar and had an outdoor upstairs overlooking the stage with trees and all
The Flamingo Cantina Bar
Okkervil River at the Parish (one of my favorite venues!)
Day 4
Just in case you are Catholic and forgot how to say grace, no worries... Also available in Jewish translation and I can't remember the other one. Whoops! Printed on silverware packet at Chuy's.
Reading Fader at the Fader Fort. How fitting.
Free Drinks at the VH1/Rockband Party!
A favorite outside bar at the Intercontinental Hotel.
The State Capitol
I could have sat here all night.
The line for Tinted Windows was long.
Day 5
Downtown Austin from South Congress. Bye, Bye Austin. It was fun!

SXSW 2009- A Mini Recap
I was totally prepared to do a post involving lots and lots of pictures, but I just don't have it in me.
My first trip to Austin was everything I could have hoped for. I am completely tex-mexed out. I am not longer on my diet coke detox. My frist one was a really crappy fountain one at a show at Stubb's BBQ. Booooooo for that. I however wasn't craving them as much as I once was and I still didn't feel the need to have one with every meal I ate out. Why drink diet coke when you can drink margaritas? I am still keeping up with the no sweets.
Here are the shows that I can remember off the top of my head:
Anni Rossi
M. Ward
The Avett Brothers
The Decemberist
Thao Nguyen and the Get Down Stay Down
Jessica Lea Mayfield
Tinted Windows (umm it's a Super Group with James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), Taylor Hanson (you know he was in the boy band Hanson and sang Mmmmm bop!), Adam Schlesinger (fountains of Wayne), and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick)
Port O'Brien
Okkervil River
Mi Ami
All The Saints
Matt and Kim
Third Eye Blind
The Airborne Toxic Event
and there were a few more.
I am off to bed. Going to bed at 3 AM the past 5 days has taken it's toll on me.
