So I just realized I accidentally threw away my brand new North Face ski pants a few weeks ago. I was cleaning my room. They were still in the box. I didn't bother to look in the box. No more ski pants for me. And I just cried about. Ugh. Being a girl sucks. They were long length and I got them on super mark down clearance back in October. It's now January and it snowed today in Nashville. I am sure there is going to be a HUGE selection at the ski store on Saturday evening when I get the chance to go. (Please note the sarcasm). I need to find a pair of pants though for my ski trip NEXT weekend. Ugh I am just sick to my stomach. Funny thing is I have done this BEFORE. Only once though 8 years ago. Last time it was a pair of jeans from Nordstrom.
RIP my black XL long ski pants.
Edit: I FOUND THE FREAKIN PANTS IN MY CLOSET!
Here's the question: what do you change? Whom do you call that you haven't spoken to in years? Whom do you realize has been toxic to your heart and drop with surprising ease? What trips do you cancel, and what trips do you book? What can't you be bothered with anymore? What's the new you like? Think about that, and then ask one more question. Why not just change it all right now?-- John Mayer

Random Wednesday
1. I chopped my hair off this afternoon. Here is the picture I took right before I threw up. KIDDING! I was nervous about the run with the East Nastys, but not that nervous!
I apologize this picture isn't a tad better, but I was literally running out the door to make it to the East Side on time.
2. The run. It wasn't that bad. 3.2 miles or 3.1 according to my nike+ipod. I finished right under 28 minutes and Lance Armstrong congratulated me on my best 5k time yet. I think you would have your best time too if you were running in a neighborhood that you are much more familiar with during the day then at night. At one point I thought about walking, but then I realized I didn't have the route memorized (even though I had the print out in my pocket). And I would much rather chug along and follow the people in front of me than worry if anyone is behind me. I made a new friend as well. I forgot how much I dislike 3 Crow because of the smoke. But I do like 2 for 1's even though I only had one.
3. I bought a plane ticket to Europe. I leave February 27 and come back March 7. On the Itinerary? The Netherlands and London England, and Antwerp for a quick trip. I didn't realize Antwerp was only about an hour and half away from The Hague. I will be visiting my wonderful friend Esther and seeing a few Dave Matthews Band Shows.
4. I was pre-approved for a mortgage today. Holy shit balls. Who knows if I will buy something, but I can really start looking right now if I want to, and that is a sort of scary thought.
5. The best money I have spent all week? It's a toss up between the Under Armour Compression Cold Gear Pants and the flight to Europe.

Continuation of Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone
I did two things today, that I have never done before.
1. I cooked and ate brussel sprouts. I can't believe I have never had them before. I guess I can chalk it up to my mom never serving them when I was younger. They aren't that bad at all. I made a recipe from the newest issue of Everyday With Rachel Ray. Of course I made some modification. It was pretty much just bowtie pasta with roasted brussel sprouts, candied almonds, goat cheese. However, like usual, I made a few modifications. I sautéed an onion. I added red pepper flake. I added some craisins. And I used blue cheese instead of goat cheese. It turned out quite nicely and I have yummy leftovers too! I just searched for the recipe on Rachel Ray's site and I don't think it is up yet.
2. I bought Under Armour. I didn't just buy it, I bought it so I can run in the cold. What? What? Oh and I bought men's because it had a drawstring and the women's did not. If there is one thing the Resolution Run taught me, it's that a drawstring is mandatory. Can you say wardrobe malfunction?
Oh, and the gym was crowded yesterday, this morning, and tonight. Part of me wishes all the New Years Resolutioners would stop coming (so I can stay on any given machine longer than 30 minutes), but part of me is cheering them on hoping they stick with it. I am sure I might be cussing them instead of cheering them when I can't get a cardio machine!

Stepping Out of Comfort Zone
Ok, So I went to an intermediate/advanced power flow yoga class today. And let me just say I was in complete awe of everyone in that class. I am still very much a beginner and new there would be things I would be unable to do like handstands, headstands, and loads of other things. I did meet a very nice husband and wife. The husband was super supportive and not in a creep way. He told me he was 67 years old and he knew I would be able to this stuff. So while I still can't do it, I will probably go back next Sunday.
Last night I went Toya's birthday party. I was a little apprehensive about going at first since I only new the birthday girl. But once I got there things went great. I also met Tia and some really other great folks. Since I know how much Toya likes the Office and it was a party where we were all encouraged to bring desserts, I made her the black version of the Princess Unicorn doll. Here is the other version I made last week. Hopefully, someone will post pictures of the cake from the party. I have some on my camera before I took the cake over, if I can't find any. The party was great, the people were great, and the desserts were AMAZING! I didn't get too crazy. I had a chocolate chip cookie, lemon bar, chocolate covered double stuff oreo, and a really small brownie, and some chips and guac. Now that may sound like a lot of food, but if you saw just how much goodness was there, you would be impressed with my willpower.
Another thing I think I am going to do is join the East Nasty running group. the great Annie Parsons suggested I go and based on my somewhat structured schedule, Wednesday and Sunday running days fit into my schedule PERFECTLY. Now I just have to get to the first run on Wednesday and actually run and not throw up because it's something new....well I won't actually throw up, but I will be really nervous.
Oh, and a little 5k update. I ran in the Resolution Run on January 1. Not my best time, 28:22, but I ran the entire time. Did I mention it was cold? It was really cold. Oh and I had a slight wardrobe malfunction. I wore a pair of pants I will never wear running again. They kept falling down and they didn't have a draw string. That'll teach me to wear new clothing on race day!
Oh and Liz from the most recent season of Biggest Loser ran the race too. I didn't get a picture but it was still really cool to see her.
Comfort zone I am stepping out. Let's just hope my stomach behaves too ;)
