This week has been one for the books.
Eating has been less than stellar. No Gym today or Tuesday, but I did go twice on Monday. That should count for something right? But then I ate that brownie batter ice cream after the gym...
Oh and my girl Fat Bridesmaid is doing a no-make up self portrait tomorrow. I have decided to participate, but I don't really think it is too fair for me. If you have read this blog for any length of time you have already seen a picture of me sans makeup. I don't usually wear makeup, at least not to work. Well there were those two weeks Keith Urban was in the building... But for the most part I usually just "wear" moisturizer. If I do wear makeup it is usually only eye makeup. I probably really need to start wearing it...
But here is my self-portrait. Important for a few reason. This is what I normally look like. And today was the day I got my crown and veneer. The only thing I have left to do is wait for my retainers and possibly bleach my teeth again.
Do you have a no make-up self portrait? Let's see 'em!
Here's the question: what do you change? Whom do you call that you haven't spoken to in years? Whom do you realize has been toxic to your heart and drop with surprising ease? What trips do you cancel, and what trips do you book? What can't you be bothered with anymore? What's the new you like? Think about that, and then ask one more question. Why not just change it all right now?-- John Mayer

European Adventure Part 2
I left this series off here after my first day in Paris. Day 2 in Paris was pretty close to perfect. Wait, the entire trip was perfect. I was able to sleep in. I woke up and wandered over to the Eiffel Tower. I decided since I had never climbed the stairs this would be my turn. I walked to the second stage. All 670 steps.
I checked out the sites from above:
Took a self portrait:
And I was on my way back down for a nice walk around the Parc du Champ de Mars.
Lunch.
I headed back to the hotel to shower and then headed out on a good 3 mile+ walk to the Luxembourg Gardens where I took a nice nap and read a book, and just people watched for a few hours.
I headed back to the hotel, this time by Metro to meet Alethea for dinner. We ate at nearby pizza place and spent the evening around the Eiffel Tower. And of course I had to have a Nutella Crepe.
Went to bed pretty early because the next day Alethea and I went on our bike tour to Giverny. We met up with the bike group at a train station and we settled in to our one hour train ride. The train actually took us to Vernon where we picked up lunch and our bikes. It was hot this day. Really hot and I wore jeans...
Lunch on the Seine. A lunch where I polished off a bottle of wine pretty much on my own and then had to ride a bike...
On the way to Giverny
The Ponds and Gardens
My bike for the day
There really are no words to describe what I saw. It was simply beautiful. I would love to go back during another season to see other flowers in bloom.
Our day came to a close around 3 PM and we headed back to Paris on the train.
