So Thursday I had the day off. I had an oral surgeon appointment in the morning and wasn't sure how I would be feeling so I took the entire day off. I went to the gym after my appointment and did about 30 minutes of weights and 60 minutes of cardio. I came home relaxed a bit and decided to give The Shred a try. So based on everyone's reviews I started on level 1. It was 20 minutes of go, go, go. It definitely got my heart rate up and my body sweating, but I personally wasn't sore the next day. I used 5 lbs weights because they are the only hand weights I have. What weight does everyone else use? Maybe I need to up my weight. I found the format to be great because you aren't don't the same thing for too long and she provides decent instruction. And jumping jacks! Over the past couple of weeks at my boot camp class I have really started to like jumping jacks (I know, I know. I must be crazy).
Would I do it again? Sure! It was a great change to my normal routine.
Would I do it everyday? Probably not. I am not one for working out videos, but I think it would be great to take when traveling because I can do it from my laptop, of course modified without the weights.
Was it a good work out? I think for 20 minutes, it was a great workout. Personally, I have a mental thing where if I don't work out for at least an hour, it doesn't really count. So I would probably pair this with more cardio like running or walking.
I'll let you know what I think of level 2 and 3 once I get there!
Have a great weekend!

I use 5 pound weights too because that's all I have.
Level 1 kills me because I am soooo out of shape. But I've heard marathon runners who found level 3 quite the challenge.
I use 5lb weights too. Shred Level 1 kills me. I have tried all the levels, just so that I can see the difference in the levels. They do get a bit harder, but those jumping jacks in Level 1 still kicks my behind.
Girl, you should be very proud of yourself if you didn't die doing the shred! The first time i ever did it, I swear, I thought I had the flu the next day because all my muscles were hurting so bad! Haha, but that was about 3 months ago...and now I can do it much better, but I'm just NOW on level 2! :)
