Tonight I heard David McCullough speak. The focus of his talk centered on history an it's importance in education. But what stuck with me the most were his thoughts on passion and that we need to share our passion. We don't need to chase the jobs that will pay the big bucks. We need to do the work that we love and are passionate about. He said of his writing career that he would pay to be able to do what he does for a living. Can you say that about your job? I don't think I can say that about mine. At least not right now. My dad has always told me to follow my passion. Always. In case you couldn't tell, music is definitely one of them. I am sort of there but not quite. I think in order for me to truly follow my passion I will eventually need to take some risks. And.that.is.such.a.scary.thought. I am slowly working on it though.
My boss paid me a really nice complement today and it was totally unexpected.
I got 2 comments on my pink jacket. I am a little bummed that the warm weather will here for good and I will have to put it way for the season.
How was your Monday???

I'm totally with you on the whole risk-taking thing, especially the part where it scares the crap out of you. I can't even think about it without twitching.
pink jacket??? do tell. don't wish away the warm weather...find a warm weather jacket that suits you! sunshine can sometimes give as much confidence as a smart outfit. maybe a smart outfit AND sunshine could give you the confidence to take the risk.
other than the fact that both my boys have RSV and i have a cold, too...my monday was quite nice. i got into my car to take my daughter to preschool and thought to myself "i have a great life." it doesn't get much better than that.
It's odd that you blogged about this because I was so just thinking about risk taking this past weekend! I'm changing my major at school, and while I know it's for the best, I'm scared because I'll be out of my comfort zone...so I totally know what you're talking about!
Hi...just found your blog and notice that we live in the same town! I really love the John Mayer quote...
FB and Kasey I am glad I am not the only one who has the same feelings about taking risks. Thanks for sharing.
Anna- it is the coat I got from Jcrew around Christmas. It fits great now. I will have to upload a picture, but I don't have any full length pics. And it is awesome because it hits just above my knee.
