Happy Valentine's Day

So Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Even if it is a day late. That seems to be how I have been rolling this week.

Friday night I made homemade pizza! Pesto and bianco. It was so yummmmmmy. And the Magic Hat beer I had with it was perfect. I also picked up Rock Band 2 for the wii which is AMAZING!!!!! My friends and I had so much fun that we played for over 2 hours. The song selection is way better than the first and there is downloadable content. I can't wait to unlock it all!

Yesterday morning I went to the gym pretty early and worked out for a bout an hour and a half. I cam home and proceeded to eat leftover pizza and dark chocolate covered ginger snaps. Healthy? Breakfast of Champions? No, but it worked for yesterday. Thankfully I managed to but the choco-ginger snaps away before I finished the entire bag. Around this time there is a knock at the door. I answer and it a delivery of flowers for me! I was trying to figure out who would be sending me flowers on Valentine's Day since I am single. My parents were the only ones I could think of. Turns out they weren't from my parents but from my friend Kevin who is in Afghanistan. It was all just super sweet of him. I have been sending him care packages while he has been over there and this was just totally unexpected and the only time I have ever received flowers from someone other than my parents.

You might remember Kevin from this picture last summer:

So we met September of my first year at school in Nashville. I was still overweight at this time. We might have occasionally crossed paths, but never hung out. We met again at a party the following summer. I had lost about 50 lbs at this point. I remember telling a friend I went to the party with that losing weight had given me a lot of confidence and I would have never felt comfortable at that party at my "before" weight. So fast forward to this past summer and we became better friends of course right before he was leaving. If you would have told me 5 years ago that this guy and I would be friends I probably would have laughed at you. If you told me he would send me flowers on Valentine's Day, of all days, I would have thought you were crazy.

I had a great night with my friends last night. Dinner. Friday the 13th. Drinks. Even though the Dr. Dog show was sold out, I still managed to have a great night!

P.S. I still haven't had a Diet Coke. Almost 2 weeks!

Dude, I am so proud of you for staying away from the Diet Coke! I'm very seriously considering giving up coffee for lent...and knowing you can do it helps me believe in myself!
