On Adulthood

I lead a pretty sweet life. I am not trying to brag here, but it's the truth. I am pretty much able to do what I want, within reason, and I am lucky enough to have a job that affords me the ability to do such things. Case in point. I decided to go to Europe about a month ago. I booked my ticket about three weeks ago. I was easily able to get the time off work. And I am not going into debt to go on this trip. (I also realize my singleness is also one of the reasons I can live the way I do...)

But, the reason I am taking this trip in about a month is because I won't be able to really travel too much during June and July. Why is that? Because I am getting added responsibility at work that will limit my travel for these two months and these two months alone. You know what is during these two months? Deer Creek. DMB at Deer Creek to be specific. Of all the tour dates, these were the only two I was really looking forward to and now I am not really sure it is going to work out. But that's what being an adult is, right? Making decisions that are hard and not always what you want, but what you need to do. If the only thing wrong with my life (especially with all that is going on all over the world right now) is that I can't go to two DMB shows this summer, I have to say I indeed have a pretty sweet life.

Examples of the sweet life:

1. Seeing a John Mayer and Keith Urban Crossroads taping tonight.
2. Jeans that fit.
3. Favorite pair of skinny jeans that almost fit.
4. Running a 9:12 mile and knowing I could do even better.
5. Friends that make you laugh.
6. Yummy dinners.

and the list could go on...

Say it ain't so!!! You sure you couldn't at least make it up for the Saturday night show?? :) I even got Chris to agree to it this year, and the Dunn's are coming!

Hey - I'm of course really bummed you can't go, but completely understand. Life works that way sometimes, always with reason.

(sucks though ;))

We're going to make up for it though, next month!!
